Today is the special menu of the day a sweet dessert. Who doesn't love sweet? Today we are making Gajar/carrot ka Halwa that is a Indian sweet. It is prepared for special occasions. 

Today I am also experimenting with creating an Infographic for this recipe. Those who are not a fan of reading enjoy this visual treat. Text recipe follows after the image.


  1. Carrot - 1 kg
  2. Milk - 1 lt.
  3. Khoya - 500gms.
  4. Cardamom seeds - 1 tsp.
  5. Ghee - 3 tbsp
  6. Raisins - 2 tbsp.
  7. Almonds - 2 tbsp.
  8. Pitachious - 2 tbsp.
  9. Sugar - 450 gms.

Preparation of Gajar/carrot ka Halwa 

  1. Wash and Grate the carrots. Soak cardamoms and nuts in a separate bowl of water. We will be needing them in step 4.
  2. Roast the grated carrots with ghee in a open pan. Make sure all the water has dried.
  3. Add milk and sugar in the pan. To make the Halwa creamy you can add Khoya to it. However, it is optional.
  4. Add crushed cardamom and nuts which were soaked in water in first step.
  5. Your Gajar Halwa is ready. Garnish with nuts and serve hot.
